Dr. Charles L. Oakes earned an Orthodontic Postgraduate Certificate at the Eastman Dental Center, and was awarded the Tom Matthews Award in 1988 and the Robert Gaylord Award in 1981 from the orthodontic department at Baylor College of Dentistry. He graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Before attending dental school, Dr. Oakes attended Centenary College, where he was a member of the Alpha Sigma Chi Honorary Chemistry Fraternity and the Alpha Sigma Pi National Honorary Fraternity. Dr. Oakes is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the Dallas County Dental Society, the American Association of Orthodontics, and the Southwest Society of Orthodontics.!
